A photographic project exploring the compromise that takes place in front of a possible new picture. The lingering sensation of shame while taking out the camera in an intimate setting. The tension that a moroccan woman living in europe snobbishly taking photos to who knows why, possibly mock or criticize, creates asks for nothing less than caution.
The sacrifice results in a lot of still life and non frontal shots, even though they were present in my photography previously, in this project I feel their presence in my stomach. I know they are there for fear of confrontation. Even when I'd honestly wish to say I just didn't want to hurt anyone, I probably didn't want to get hurt myself.
Despite all of the conflicting feelings I stayed true to my vision when shooting. When the situation was comfortable or I made sure it would be, I made the pictures worth the fear.
