Aappilattoq is a small Greenlandic town of only 100 residents that sits nestled into the foothills of Southern Greenland's complex fjord system. With this series, I explore the small fishing community using an atypical, fashion-focused viewpoint. I combine lighting techniques picked up in the last years shooting fashion in Los Angeles and New York with portraits of a communities so remote it's only accessible by boat. The result is a colorful and light-hearted juxtaposition of contemporary and tradition.
Photographed with color negative medium and large format film.
