And there was light

The quest for a hidden light whose power reveals, transforms, transfigures, and plunges inside the geometries of the universe inspired this work. In the darkroom, I set up a process where rays of electricity strike like lightning on plants, minerals, or shapes, to transfigure them. A 4x5" film makes it possible to capture this moment in photogram, this furtive manifestation invisible to the human eye. The electricity reveals a new reality of the elements, their hidden, ordered, harmonious dimensions. I imagine an inner, unknown cosmos where a leaf is a galaxy.
