“NEO PRŪSA

Is a part of a series of my analog photographs from 2007- 2009, digital print. The photographs were taken mainly in the area of Königsberg Region (Russian Kaliningrad region). This seria was inspired by “street photography, surrealism and land history”. Where is my home and what is it? Asks Xenia, born in these lands, constantly torn by political divisions. Lands originally settled by Baltic peoples, the Romans called them "Aestia." The Balts who lived here called the place "Prūsa". They spoke their own language - Prussian. The end of their culture was brought by the Polish-German expansion and colonization initiated by the Teutonic Order, and their language became extinct. Xenia dreams that Königsberg (Polish: Königsberg), would no longer belong to Russia, nor to Germany, nor to Poland, nor to Lithuania, nor to Bohemia. That it would become the capital of the self-governing republic of "Neo Prūsa" and be part of the EU. That it should belong to those people who come from this land, or consider it their home. Xenia Uranova born in Kaliningrad (Baltic See region). She have a Ukrainian and Belarusian roots and living as emigrant for last 13 years in Poland.
