The womb of our arms

In this project we search for that delicacy that is there in the transition between the womb and the parents' arms. A first journey from the warm womb to life. Here first the mother, then the parents together, will have the task of recreating the same situation of welcome, protection and support that the baby left behind. The black background is the perfect frame to intimately reveal the emotions of this journey. They are silent shots, like a whispered narration where the light rests gracefully on the subjects. The details underline and describe the intensity of this process such as the hands that lean, contain and embrace: we see what the parents feel without seeing their gaze. The parallelism between the first and the last photo, between the beginning and the end, give the title to the project, which is a metaphor between the warmth of the womb and the love that welcomes this new soul.
