Shot in an open field in Western Sydney in 1992, this series takes place as bushfires burned in the distance, their drifting smoke becoming an enormous, atmospheric backdrop — a natural “smoke machine” for the shoot.
At its center is Anneliese Seubert, recently crowned Ford Supermodel of the World, transformed into a whimsical pioneer of flight. Dressed in retro aviator gear, she runs and lifts her arms, attempting to take flight with the handmade wings crafted by Creative Director Nathalie Agussol from Pan & The Dream.
The spirit of the series draws directly from the playful, imaginative world of Jacques Henri Lartigue — his love of motion, invention, and the innocent audacity of early flight experiments.
Photographed on Kodak film, the images hover between nostalgia and fantasy. They celebrate youth, creativity, and the universal desire to defy gravity, capturing the precise moment where imagination lifts off — even if only for an instant.
