Cycle of the limbo rose in 2011 when I was 21 years old. I was a student of Fine Arts going through depression. Slowly I recovered from such state and the photos are the symbol of the changes I was going through. The photos are showing the limbo between the suffering and the spiritual liberation. Visually I let myself connect with the Jesus Christ folded in the shroud and put into the grave. The pictures show Jesus as a symbol of universal humankind. In my opinion every one of us can identify with Jesus,no matter what values we are believing in. The stage of the limbo is a very important stage for coming out of depression. It is like the caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, or like hibernation, a status which is essential in order to survive. I think that it is very important to express our problems. Depression is a very serious illness. Many people are ashamed of it or they shrug it off and this can cause a tragedy. Through my photos I would like to inform ill people that we can overcome depression and that it is worth looking for help. Every person deserves to be happy and everyone has their unique value. I also would like to inform healthy people that this illness is like any other sickness with its own symptoms, reasons and results. The support of the environment plays a very important role here. The people who are posing for the pictures were chosen accidentally. The project was an incredible experience for me that proved the validity of the concept. After my first expo I realized, that what I have been doing makes huge sense.
