On the Wave

Dreams are worth having and going for. This book shows young people who, despite life’s difficulties, own weaknesses and often wrong choices, can find the meaning and purpose of their further journey. It is the story of people with a common goal: reaching the shore. The photographs show their eagerness, joy fatigue and battle with the elements. They learn how to sail, how to overcome everyday obstacles in life and how to face the challenges. The Voyage of Explorers [Rejs Odkrywców] are cruises for children and youth living in custodial care centers. These are young people threatened with social exclusion and uncertain start in adulthood. Sailing moulds their characters. The Vayage of Explorers Fundation and its friendspromote a way of living full of cooperation, friendship and taking responsibility for yourself and others, by helping young people keeping on course. The book shows three sea cruises which took pleace within a three year period, between 2012 and 2014. Three different sailing ships, three beautiful cruises with Zawisza Czarny, Kapitan Borchardt and Fryderyk Chopin. This book was recognized in the IPA International Photography Awards.
