'Kaatje' The power of creating & sharing Art.

‘Kaatje’ is a deeply personal photography project of recovering from childhood wounds by expressing myself through art and photography. Now I know that the starting point of photography also was my process of healing. Art photography is a powerful medium that allows me to express emotions, stories and complex thoughts. I focus on a recurring theme in my work: the battle against the lingering trauma from my youth, represented by images of girls and young women. With the final works I hope to encourage the viewer to notice such children around them, reflect upon their own challenges and maybe even find some comfort in my work.
