Ecosexuality is a sexual orientation ( that I identify with) where there is an attraction to nature. Ecosexuals feel a deep connection and love for the Earth, considering it an intimate partner, where nature is sacred and deserves to be respected, honoured and cared for. For ecosexuals, pleasure and intimacy are related to active and conscious involvement with the environment.
Ecosex In The Other Way Around (2023- ongoing project) asks:
What if "nature" took an active role in this relationship?
In my first experiments to observe how images react to natural agents, always opting for environmentally friendly materials, I chose to work with photos taken at low speed of films related to ecosexuality. The first photographs were buried along with seeds and plant seedlings and in a short time they turned into soil, decomposing almost completely and becoming part of the whole.
In a second moment, I started sowing seeds over the photographs. I was thrilled to see a physical relationship between nature and eroticism, in a daily transformation, adding new elements, beautiful marks of an organic relationship, just confirming that every form of love is transformative.
