Home is no longer there! No tree, no winter, no fall, no sign of spring.
The project Requiem for a Garden was created when I came across a box of old slides that contained memories of an original and beautiful garden house in Tehran.
That house, like thousands of other old houses that used to form the visual and historical identity of this city, was taken over, destroyed, and an ugly and tall tower appeared on its ashes. There is no trace of that house except memories of the people who once lived there, fell in love and laughed in the shade of its trees.
My work consists of two layers of ambrotype and old broken mirrors, which are connected by a molten layer of tin metal.
These tablets are a memorial for a garden.
