The photos in this series reveal the intricate, beautiful, and overlooked patterns, colors, and shapes of petals and how light interacts upon these forms, freed from their original source identification to create abstract images.
Some of the images use soft focus intentionally to create a sensuous romanticism.
More About the Artist and Process:
The Covid lockdown narrowed my photographic subject matter to my garden. Serendipitously, I discovered how to use petals, both individually and in groups, as a palette for the creation of abstract imagery. These photos reveal a new perspective in the time-honored tradition of floral art.
The images are minimally processed as nature needs no improvement. Her bounty surrounds us, waiting to be discovered.
