My work has always involved family stories.
I had taken a series of photographs as I emptied my mother's house in 2018. She lived there for 53 years. I was interested in what remained of of a house when emptied, was there a kinda of collective family memory that resided in the space.
My mom was exposed to covid in 2020 in a hospital and died shortly after. I didn't get to see her again as I said goodbye over a computer screen. We were very close.
I revisited these photographs and found images that I could find echos of my mother. Her hands on door handles or hear her pull a jar of canned tomatoes from a shelf.
This series is part of my covid series.
