Chronic depression is all-consuming and complex in its nature. As years go by, the illness becomes a life companion. Ever-changing and still the same. Somehow familiar and yet still obscure.
In her project, Sandy Kramer processes her experience of eight years with chronic depression. She exposes her inner life and explores the feeling of emptiness, the alienation of herself, her inner conflict and her journey of healing. The project is both a reconciliation with herself and the disease, as well as an attempt to bring the viewer closer to the topic. With a collection of intimate fragments, she wants to give an insight into what it feels like to suffer from a long-lasting depression.
