Nature photography
When the music’s over illustrates —through its barely defined painterly portrayal of plants, trees, leaves, petals, rivers — the silencing of a natural world I was fortunate enough to grow up in and to be able to wonder at throughout my life. (Plants and trees have been shown to communicate via underground fungal pathways, but also via emitting scents and, as we have lately discovered, through noises that are imperceptible to the human ear).
As the rate at which we are gliding inexorably towards a desertification of the life forces that led to our creation speeds up, will plants be silenced or simply disappear?
Will we go out with a bang or with a whimper?
(All photographs shot on iPhone 13 Pro with no filters or editing apart from some slight colour adjusting in Photos app on one or two of the images).
