Botany and still life lend themselves naturally to decay, I only capture the process. And occasionally tease the process. By design, floral art is presented at its prime; I’m here for what follows. At times, any living thing brought to the studio is drowned, set on fire, set in agar, frozen, torn, tossed with trash, drizzled with various unguents and teased into shapes unnatural. Nature alone has mastered floral art; what humans do to nature is the creative bit. And the cruel bit.
