A few years ago, it was difficult to travel far because of Covid-19, so I took photos in the neighborhood, and it occurred to me what pictures I could take if I went into the depths of living hydrangeas, which are very familiar to us Japanese.
I was driven by the urge to capture hydrangea’s images and I tenderly went into them with my camera, believing in the toughness of them. I took them in parks, on the streets in my neighborhood and in the nature, during the rainy season in 2021 and 2022.
These photos show you the images of hydrangeas as they were there but a little bit different from what you think of as hydrangea. The flowers among sepals are so colorful and vivid and they sometimes look like animals and sometimes like gems. You can imagine the stories of them.
