the Refugee Park

An improvised camp was put up in the business center of Brussels. The thousands of refugees coming to Europe, and ending up in Brussels, had no place to go. Every day they stand in line, hoping for news on their papers. Then the rain came. What looked like a cosy camp site, became a muddy and unbearable place. Volunteers did what they could until finally the Belgian government provided shelter in an empty sky scraper nearby. I used a found plastic bag to photograph this without my camera becoming soaked too. The effects makes me feel like having the same mental condition as some of these refugees.
