Ritratti

A never-ending work in progress, a life story through fantastical narrations of authentic unknown people. The pictures, sometime, are capable of capturing elements of human society and interactions between subjects that would not otherwise show themselves directly. What in anthropology is called the object interviewed becomes for the artist the subject of the pictures and has an active role in the exchange during the process. Photographer and people are placed at the same level into a relationship giving rise to a reciprocal influence whose trigger is the final purpose. More than the notion of looking, we must insist on reading the pictures not as an image but as a dense text filled with different meanings, hidden or not.
