Sometimes, stories whisper themselves into existence. I am an Iraqi-Canadian writer-director who moved from Baghdad to Toronto six years ago. Most of my 20s were spent in Toronto, but most of my dreams were in Baghdad. Baghdad is a city of chaos, a city of light, colors, and juxtapositions. Through this street photography series, I tried to capture the essence of post-war, contemporary Baghdad through its landscapes and its people. Baghdad is a space that doesn’t leave my mind; anytime I go anywhere, anywhere I land, Baghdad will still haunt my dreams.
