Environmental Portraits of Friends

During my long involvement in photography, one of my enduring passions is the environmental portrait. Usually made with the knowledge and cooperation of the subject, this work encourages the two-way communication that can bring depth and vibrancy to the image. Sometimes engaging in conversation and sometimes not, the subject and the photographer collaborate on creating a milieu that can, at its best, be deeply reflective of their relationship.
