‘A Love Letter To Girls' is an exploration of the delicate journey of girlhood and the connection of feminine energy. Delving into the intricacies of gender and intimacy, I was inspired by my own teenage experiences to create a visual appreciation for the connections I made with girls that molded me into the woman I am today.
In the creation of this project, every aspect of the shoot was rich in collaboration - styling, set design, and hair/makeup were all products of a collective effort between myself and the models.
With a focus on capturing candid interactions and genuine moments, throughout the process, a conversation of what female friendships meant to each model strongly influenced the work. As the shoot evolved, I came to realise that the visuals we were creating were manifesting in a real-time exchange of creativity, stories, appreciation, and unity among the women involved. Initially, the five girls were strangers to me, but through our shared vision, we formed genuine bonds that translated into the essence of the work; from this 'A Love Letter To Girls' was born.
