Stray Dog

'Stray Dog’ is an ongoing project that finds me journeying back to my home country Albania. 11 years after my last visit and 3 years after a gender transition, the work explores a now unfamiliar land where the complex emotions of displacement, loneliness and isolation are amplified due to still being recognised as a girl. Through self-portraiture and performance, the work is one of disruptions: whether in the landscapes or in one's self, there is an element of wanting to disturb the environment by placing myself within it. There are frictions between wanting to be seen and hiding, between empty spaces and ones I inhabit and claim as my own.tring atring tring all
