This Must Be The Place
This series aims to explore the notions of contemporary cartography, bringing light to the lines our journeys leave behind. The maps we create with our existence are often more intricate than the ones we choose to follow.
The work highlights the fragility of the everyday and how easily it is overlooked. Each image is printed and folded into a paper airplane then re-photographed. When the airplane is unfolded the crack ink from the image reveals a map left on the landscape, the map is then displayed alongside the airplane it created, each piece is an original and one off.
The work leaves the viewer with a map, a destination, and a vessel with which to arrive there.
