About Tanya Houghton

I am a photographer currently based out of London and have a background in sociology and commercial photography. I combine traditional landscape and portrait photography with conceptual still life images that I create using objects gathered from the spaces and people I work with. My current practice focuses on themes centred around landscape and memory, with a strong interest between the tension of the Urban (man) and the Rural (nature) and the interactions between the two. I’m interested in learning the stories we as humans imprint onto the landscape and in return the memories that those landscapes imprint onto us.
