This photography project explores dreams and urban life in my hometown, capturing our collective past, present, and future. As a child, questions about my future felt distant, yet as I grew, they resurfaced with intensity. What dreams do I truly harbor?
I've lived for a decade in a central Chinese city, a major railway hub where many pass through but few remain. This transience left me feeling disconnected, prompting me to seek "my dream" abroad. Returning during holidays, I noticed the unchanged, stagnant nature of the city and its youth. These visits blurred the lines between past memories and current realities, reigniting childhood questions about the future.
This work, developed over three years, is a testament to the dreams, reflections, and essence of my hometown. It stands at the intersection of life’s paths, exploring intertwined past, present, and future. "Endless Dreams" reveals layers of future, identity, and the city’s heart, capturing moments that are both foreign and intimate.
