The triumph of the young Sicilian erotic - between homosexuality and harmony in the XIX century | Il trionfo

Walking in the beautiful Sicily, a great source of inspiration from every point of view, I ran in the most varied forms of art. Here it is possible to reconstruct the beauty that long ago the Greeks came to it and all the dominions to follow. Focusing on the city of Taormina, the place of origin of my project, an elderly woman of late age told me how was born and who was founded, i.e. in 358 B.C. by some Greek refugees. In the second half of the XIX century, Italy was the beloved country of homosexuals northern Europeans in particular Taormina, point of attraction for artists lovers of purity and beauty, businessmen and intellectuals such as Robert Kitson, Oscar Wilde, Wilhelm Von Gloeden, Guy De Maupassant and many others.Also, according to the masculinist culture popular of that time, having homosexual relations in the adolescent age was considered as a manifestation of strong masculinity and virility. Therefore, many poor families of the time was enriched with the prostitution of their children, according to various sources of the epoch.For which, today I wanted to restore life to art and poetic homosexuals and erotic that have pervaded Taormina in the period mentioned above, with my project focused on the enchanting beauty of the male body, to sweetness and expressiveness of a naked body and the emotion that pervades my soul imagining that the environmentthat surrounds me was a place of erotic homosexuals manifestations appreciated by the greatest artists.
