This area of heavy snowfall, water changes to ice with snow at its core. It mixes with water, turns into ice as the temperature drops at night, and transforms as the sun rises. While repeating changes depending on the rise and fall of temperature, wetlands gradually becomes a world of ice and snow. These patterns are delicate and change repeatedly due to slight changes in temperature, such as the amount of snow, the wind, the heat of wetland plants, and the flow of water. A momentary drawing created in the repeated cycle of living energy. The majestic and unpredictability of nature suggests the unpredictability of the world we are currently facing, while at the same time harboring strong and lasting hope for the future. I photographed several wetlands in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, located in an explosion crater formed tens of thousands of years ago by a volcanic eruption.
