"SAILING WITH UNCERTAINTY BUT EYES WIDE OPEN" was something I penned in my journal as a self-encouragement right before embarking on a last minute, 3-month international voyage that I felt quite ambivalent about but also eager to make happen as an escape from the mechanized and disheartening enviroment I found myself in phisically and creatively.
My goal was to seek for genuine human interactions, people and scenes worthy documenting while challenging myself creatively. With a total of twenty one 35mm film rolls shot, I got to capture amazing subjects I had never thought of and deepened my connection to photography, all while amplifying my view of the world and its complexity.
The 5 pictures I am submitting were taken during this trip, which consisted of 6 different countries, including my homeland, Brazil.
