The 'wild' has always inspired humanity – the Sahara Desert is the largest hot desert in the world. To capture its subtly changing form, the photographer photographed during the Sahara winter, when its windier and cloudier than the rest of the year. Sometimes the shadows of giant clouds transform the dunes with unearthly colours. This image is from a series which aims to evoke this constant interplay between timelessness and change – paying homage to the beauty and fragility of Nature. The photographer has filmed and directed over 100 international documentaries, receiving awards around the world for his films and photography. The images were captured in medium format in Morocco.
