Ocean Drift is a series of dreamscapes inspired by the rich transforming ocean and cloudscapes along one section of the Southern Ocean along the Great Ocean Road.
Created over a number of years from the one location in Fairhaven, the vision of the series is to reflect the beauty of the ephemeral changing weather and soft passage of time.
Ocean Drift illustrates perpetual transition and the gentleness of removing oneself from freezing a moment in time.
The expansiveness and untenable nature of the sky and ocean, the transient light of dusk and gathering darkness of evening, the ever moving essences fleetingly meet, beyond the constraints of the technological world.
Utilising in-camera processes of intentional camera movement, the photographic art mirrors the peace received and imbued through a soft gaze onto the unrestricted wildness of the ocean free from boundaries and intrusions.
The ethereal feelings that drift across the periphery upon ocean gazing are akin to the lightness of feathers.
Sharing transitions of moments, transporting the viewer to both the Great Ocean Road, and the wonder of changing light and texture of the ocean and sky, that is both of place and a portal.
