These are photographs I took, mostly as a student, but which were never exhibited in original form, as I really only intended them for photocollage works I was making.
Very few of the negatives were ever printed larger than contacts, and the photos were basically unseen until around 2011 when I scanned and repaired all 500 of them and they were acquired for their historic significance by the National Library of Ireland Photo Archive. They have since been published by The History Press but indeed as History, so they are basically unknown to wider photo culture and have never been exhibited outside of Ireland.
When they were first exhibited, in the National Library gallery in Dublin they did break records with 17000 people attending. I still find them very moving and interesting myself.
