La Línea

Tijuana is a vibrant and colorful city, which has more cross-border in all the world. The border fence that divides the city of San Diego is popularly known as La Linea, where there are crosses painted in memory of migrants have died trying to cross into the United States. On weekends, people usually meet on the line and look to the other side, as if they were on a picnic, with the deep desire to live the American dream. But talking about the border is not just talking about migrants, drugs, death and pain. The border is movement, exchange, culture, dialogues and other viewpoints. It is about relationships that are created under the surface between two countries. American cities near the border, such as San Diego and Los Angeles, have a strong influence of Mexican culture in architecture and food, to name a few, due to the large number of Mexicans who live and work there.
