My website is called Images Lost and Found because moments that could easily be lost or dismissed as ordinary are often the most revealing. The process of noticing and presenting them is the work of both the artist and the archivist. It shows us – and those who come later – who we are. I am especially fascinated by rituals and celebrations, such as parades and markets, because through them 21st century people enact much older cultural traditions.
For me, intense observation, embrace of the here and now, and the revelation of the moment are deeply rewarding. In many ways, my photos represent my personal practice. I hope that the images are compelling in themselves and that they also inspire the viewer to experience the world deeply and notice everything.
