I am a Romanian-born artist, based in London. My work evolves mainly around street photography. Through my lens, I explore themes of solitude, alienation and the ethereal nature of existence. I use photography to express my emotions, as a tool of self-discovery and self-manifestation.
Introverted is a meditative exploration of the world through the lens of an introverted observer, delving into the themes of otherness, vulnerability, and a paradoxical desire to feel simultaneously connected to other humans and to remain immune to their scrutiny.
In this project, by attempting to capture the essence of fleeting moments, I am focusing on reflections and observing the world through windows, as a metaphor for the inside – outside dichotomy, and all the stories that go unnoticed. Each image is a silent narrative, simultaneously a straightforward portrait of strangers passing by unaware of my gaze and being seen, but also an abstract reflection of my subjective eye, the seeker, constantly stimulated by the photographs waiting to be taken, an
emotional longing to connect.
Through the interplay of light and shadow, texture and form, Introverted invites viewers to look beyond the obvious and discover the depth of the unobserved world. It's a visual poem to the quiet observer within us all, finding beauty in the overlooked, noticing something spectacular in the mundane.
