Carnavaleando: The Space in Between

The series captures the moment, which could be eternal, before parading in the San Francisco carnaval, a time when actors and dancers haven't' put on their masks yet or about to do so, or as the German photographer August Sanders would say, when they are still individuals and haven't become types, when they are still working out the details of posing. It's a fragile moment of inner and outer transformation.
