Born From The Sea is a photographic narrative which challenges the profound question of ‘where do we come from?’ Both science and religion provide contrasting explanations. There is a paradox between the theories of Evolution vs the theory of Creationism.
I have chosen monochrome as a visual metaphor: the contrast between darkness and brightness represents existential dualities. Science and Creationism collide with each other in the quest for truth.
I have chosen natural geological forms as an ambiguous representation of the theme. I want to challenge the viewer to question “what am I really looking at here”. To keep the possibility open that scientific theories may not be the whole truth.

"The laws of physics, not the will of God, provide the real explanation as to how life on Earth came into being.” Stephen Hawking
