More than joy in Samba

The main Brazilian Carnival Parade in Rio de Janeiro is world wide famous by the happiness and joy that spread out. Everybody inside the party seems to be living a mix of trance and ecstasy. This project shows another side of that history. Those pictures were taken at the finish line in the 2011 parade, when one of the biggest Samba Schools had been punished by delay, losing the competition. I saw the desperate and sadness in the members eyes, people that work hard all along the year for that single moment.
