Home in heart

Huixi village is an old and beautiful village located in south of Anhui province China, surrounded by mountains and a small river runs through it. With the completion of reservoir construction downstream, Huixi village will disappear under the water. The villagers have lived here for generations for a thousand years. But now they have to say goodbye to their homeland and start new life in a new settlement. Melancholy at parting and uncertainty about the future filled everyone’s heart. Perhaps this is the price of modern development. It took me three years for this project to document their lives in the homeland which was about to disappear, to preserve the home images in their heart.
