I am thrilled to be a part of the editorial team for the Paris Olympic games at The Age newspaper in 2024, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I have been eagerly anticipating for a long time. Inspired by the legendary Annie Leibovitz's book featuring the American Olympic team in 1996, I have decided to work on a portrait project of our olympians as a lead up of the coverage and chosen to shoot the project on a 8x10 large format film camera using black and white films, it was a complete different approach compare to a digital camera, every step was a challenge as well as so much can go wrong from putting films into the holders, then the setup of the camera to home film processing in the darkroom, but I see this as a great inspiration of another kind of photography. This will allow me to create timeless, distraction-free images that showcase our Olympians in the most inspiring light. This project was to showcase of our olympians as human beings, I did not want them to be in competition mode, in fact, they were all photographed at public locations where anybody can reach.
