“Gotta Dance” highlights an evolving project, which has taken me from cabaret performances in Cuba, two stepping in Texas, samba in Brazil, international and ballroom dance competitions in Montreal, exotic dance in Toronto, burlesque in New York, contemporary and classical ballet in Israel and Los Angeles, to tango in Argentina and traditional dance in India and Japan.
Extending my study beyond performances to intimate activities backstage offers a deeper understanding of the world of dance and music. While some people are welcoming, getting close is not always simple. Sometimes, we don‘t even speak the same language.
I strive to convey a sense of grace and humanity along with compassion and humour
while exploring the motion and emotion of dance. Through my photographs, I want the viewer to be able to hear the music, to better understand other cultures, and to sense what I feel.
