A Viking funeral

This documentary project followed a family achieving the last request of their mother. The traditional Viking funeral of launching a funeral pyre is achievable today by sending the loved ones ashes to their final destination on a reed boat that burns until it sinks. Shot over the course of two hours, I accompanied the family in the most personal of moments, bearing witness to the final resting place of their dear mother.
