Mental Imagery can be a powerful tool as therapy. In these images I have taken time to reflect and meditate on a loss of a loved one 30 years prior, only now starting to heal from this traumatic event. Typically, I spend time while hiking in the forest, walking in the city and just before rest to purposefully revisit past emotions. The energy captured/felt during these times carries thru both in the conscious and subconscious. This energy often times remains present while I am capturing images not with direct intent rather a feeling of freedom to explore the emotional journey wherever it may take me. The overall goal is to replace mental images that represent hurt, frustration, insecurity, confusion and fear with new images attached to the emotional stream and to incrementally and systematically rebuild and gain strength moving forward.
