Step into the heart of a rural Uzbek farming village during cotton harvest season, where I found myself at just the right time, in the right place. These photos capture the daily lives of cotton pickers, showing the hard physical work they do, but also the moments of warmth and togetherness that make their days lighter. Being there, witnessing it all firsthand, was humbling and left me with deep gratitude.
What struck me most was the strength of family bonds, the resilience of these communities, and the deep connection they have to the land they’ve worked for generations.
While cotton harvesting is often linked to sensitive topics, this series focuses on something different—family life, perseverance, and the strong tie between people and their land. Through these images, I hope to offer a more layered, human perspective of the Uzbek community, one that goes beyond stereotypes and shows the real beauty of their everyday lives.
