“Miki and Yoko” is a tribute to my parents, who shaped my entire being. Through black-and-white photographs, I weave their lives as I saw them, their final moments, and the lingering echoes of their passing. From moments of quiet connection and time spent together in and around our home to the stillness of their final farewell. I see grief as having two faces: finding peace in endings and dreaming of a new journey beyond death. Rooted in Japanese traditions, these photographs explore the fragility of life, the weight of memory, and the enduring love that persists after loss. Through this work, I honor my parents’ legacy, share a universal story of loss and remembrance, and hope they enjoy a peaceful, onward journey.
