A couple of months ago, I saw that a newly renovated and colorful court had been inaugurated in a park in Santiago, Chile. I immediately thought about how the court would look from above, from a drone’s perspective. Even better, with some long shadows cast across the court—ideally in the morning or late afternoon, when the sun hits from the side and projects silhouettes. One morning, I went to the park, and there happened to be a group of kids taking part in a summer sports activity. It was even better than I expected. There wasn’t just one shadow, or two, or three—there were dozens.
