Lai Chau, in Vietnam's north west is a province just starting to open up for tourism. Visiting distant villages for western people requires a permit if you want to see the border areas close to the China. Some of the photos I present here are from such areas where I was the first foreign tourist to visit the area. The Department of Culture and Tourism in Lai Chau has been instrumental in acquiring my permits and is assisting me in ventures to other districts and villages. For further information about tours to these areas you can contact me on info@faceofvietnam.com.
