Series of 18 digital photographs
The project «The coast, another border» is a photographic journey that follows the Moroccan part of the Mediterranean bypass. This road that was connected two countries, Algeria and Morocco, stops at the doors of this closed border since 1994.
Since 2009, Baptiste de Ville d’Avray photography Morocco under construction in a project that relies on its tourism potential for fifteen years. In 2015, he left a key geographical point, the Algerian border to Tangier. A total of 600 km. This is the story of a real territory, in the urban development, contemporary, yet timeless photographed. We follow this highway which crosses new cities, large sites, villages and countryside. Through a cinematic universe, the author reveals in these images of great chromatic sweetness, these upheavals of the landscape.
As usual, it is this latent expectation, both peaceful and full of tension, that we find everywhere throughout the Mediterranean countries, which the eye of Baptiste de Ville d’Avray was able to fix.
This series is part of a long-term project on Morocco initiated in 2009 which includes four parts.
