In my family, there is a piece of land known only as the "Tree Farm" that many of us consider sacred. My nephews are the sixth generation walking this land and are now carrying forward a tradition that, for many, has created a profound respect for nature, active participation in conservation, and a deep connection to food, as well as identity.
For a very long time, I intentionally left my camera at home when stepping into these woods. I felt nothing could capture the space that these 80 acres hold for us, and as such, I've set out to make this project an incomplete record, looking through time with the memory of my past and the realization that my role in these woods is always changing.
With an unset end date and following the tradition of lyrical documentary photography, I'm carrying 35mm and medium format black and white film into this world that is out of sight to most.
