Each stone represents a life of service—often weathered by time, neglect, and the quiet passage of years. Through careful restoration and photography, I aim to reveal not only the physical details of these markers, but the presence of the individuals they represent. The process is simple but intentional: clean the stone, observe it, photograph it, and spend time understanding the name, the dates, and the life behind it. Many of these individuals have no one regularly visiting their graves. This project serves as a small act of recognition—an acknowledgment that their service and memory still matter. The images focus on texture, light, and inscription—capturing each stone as both an object and a marker of identity. Over time, the work becomes a growing archive of overlooked histories, tied to place, service, and memory.
